Which snowboards are compatible with kids’ Step On bindings?

Step On Grom bindings feature a disc mounting interface, making them compatible with most hole patterns including 3D, 4x4, and The Channel™. This includes youth snowboards from Burton, such as the Grom, Mini Grom, and Riglet. Additionally, Step On Grom bindings are compatible with most other manufacturers’ snowboards that accept disc snowboard bindings.

What is the size range of Grom Step On snowboard boots?

Grom Step On snowboard boots are available in Kids' and Toddler sizes 11C to 2K (EURO 28-33, Mondo 17.5-20.5). This generally corresponds to children ages 4-8 years old, based on average foot sizes. Simply pick the correct boot size for your child, then adjust the fit of the Step On Grom bindings with the included instructions. Every Grom Step On boot from 11C to 2K will fit the single-sized kids’ Step On Grom binding.

Take note that all Grom Step On boots feature Burton’s exclusive Room-to-Grow footbeds, which can be removed to increase the boot one full size (while still providing the same cushioning and support). Simply remove the footbed and use the boot with the integrated secondary footbed that is a size larger. Then, when the time comes to hand these boots down to a younger sibling, just reinstall the footbeds to adjust the fit for a smaller foot. How can I make sure my kids get the correct size boots and bindings?

Step On Grom Binding & Boot Features

• No Hiback: We ditched the hiback on Step On Grom bindings because as it turns out, boots in the 11C-2K range provide plenty of support for young riders.
• Oversized toe hook levers: We added oversized levers to the binding toe hooks to facilitate easier exit (for lighter riders). Note that it's possible to exit Step On Grom bindings without using the toe hook levers.
• Oversized heel release lever: A larger heel PUSH-to-release lever on Step On Grom bindings is easier to operate for small hands.
• Oversized BOA Fit System dials: Grom Step On snowboard boots feature oversized BOA Fit System dials that are positioned on the outside of the boots. With no laces to tie, little riders can fine-tune their boot tightness quickly and easily throughout the day (without having to take their mittens off).

Additionally, the heel cleat release lever and toe hook release levers are all push-to-release. Through real-world testing with many young riders, our engineers determined that push-to-release was a much easier motion for young kids to operate independently.
