An Overview of Burton Splitboard Compatible Bindings

Whether you’re just getting into splitboarding or you’re already a seasoned veteran, getting the right gear can be confusing—especially when it comes to board/binding interfaces. With so many different options and combinations, we want to make sure you get the right gear you need, without any extra headache. That’s why we compiled this basic overview of Burton splitboard compatible bindings.

Important: Burton pucks are based on the Voile interface system and are required to mount bindings with The Channel. Channel splitboard pucks are included with all Burton splitboards. If you received a Burton splitboard without these pucks, please reach out to the Burton Guides to get hooked up.

Burton Hitchhiker Splitboard Bindings

The easiest way to get up and riding on a Burton splitboard is with a pair of Burton Hitchhiker Splitboard bindings. These split-specific bindings are designed for use with the factory-mounted interface that Burton splitboards have and will deliver top-notch performance for touring and riding. Additionally, Hitchhiker bindings are easy to mount and ship with the complete interface and hardware you’ll need.

Note: The Hitchhiker’s utilize the Spark R&D Tesla T1 baseplate for low weight, ease of use, and seamless fit.

Burton Step On® Split Splitboard Bindings

Utilizing the same Spark R&D Tesla T1 base plate system as the Hitchhiker, Burton Step On Split® splitboard bindings bring the convenience of Step On to the backcountry. Step On Split bindings are compatible with all Burton splitboards that feature The Channel mounting interface. Like any Step On bindings, Step On Split bindings require Step On boots. We recommend a soft Step On boot for comfort while touring.

Other Burton Splitboard Compatible Bindings

While we generally recommend split-specific bindings for splitboarding, any standard, non-EST snowboard binding that can accept a 4-hole disc can be mounted to a Burton splitboard with the appropriate hardware.

Note: Burton pucks are required to mount any snowboard bindings to a Burton splitboard with The Channel. Pucks and puck kits from other manufacturers are not compatible with Burton splitboards featuring The Channel. If you receive a Burton splitboard without pucks, please reach out to the Burton Guides.

While Burton pucks are necessary, if you’re looking to mount non split-specific snowboard bindings to a Burton splitboard, it is possible. For example, Burton Re:Flex bindings may be used with Voile Slider Tracks to get you out on the mountain. In general, this approach should only be considered as the next-best-option to getting split-specific bindings.

Pro tip: Before making a purchase, check with the snowboard binding manufacturer to determine what is included and what other parts may be needed for splitboard mounting.
