Many people worry that rental gear is of lower quality, but with Burton’s Resort Rental program, you can set those concerns aside. The rental boards are designed to be beginner-friendly, making it less likely for your edges to catch unexpectedly. Along with the board, you'll get STEP ON®︎ boots and bindings. With STEP ON®︎, you won’t have to worry about your pants or gloves getting wet, and the quick setup means more time on the slopes and faster progression. STEP ON®︎ rentals are available at 12 resorts across Japan.

The largest resort among the four ski areas in Niseko. The lower part of the slope features dynamic courses with varied terrain, the middle section has gentle slopes winding through birch forests, and the upper part offers expansive, open runs. It caters to skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts, and offers both groomed and powder courses. The base area is well-equipped with accommodations, hot springs, and restaurants, making it perfect for après-ski activities.

Sapporo Teine
Winter Season Operation (Scheduled): November 16, 2024 (Sat) - May 6, 2025 (Tue, Holiday) *After April 4 (Mon), open only on weekends and holidays.
Located just a 40-minute drive from central Sapporo, this ski resort hosted events during the Sapporo Winter Olympics. The Summit Express high-speed lift, which seats four people and is covered, makes for a comfortable ride to the top. You can enjoy magnificent views of Sapporo and the Sea of Japan while skiing on top-quality powder snow. The resort offers a variety of courses for all levels, and the terrain park, with its jumps and rails, is a visitor favorite.

Inawashiro Ski Resort

Surrounded by Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro, this resort offers breathtaking views as you ride. The spacious slopes in the Sky and Base areas are ideal for beginners and families, and there's a kids’ park where even young children can safely enjoy freestyle activities. For those seeking more challenging runs, the Minero area offers some of the most difficult courses in the Tohoku region. After snowfall, the ungroomed powder on the upper part of the mountain is also a must-try.

Hoshino Resort Nekoma Mountain

Last season the "Nyalts Chair," a lift connecting the former Alts Bandai and Nekoma areas, transformed this into one of Japan's largest snowfields. With a variety of courses for all levels, from beginners to advanced skiers, the layout has something for everyone. In the 2023-2024 season, it boasted the longest operating season in Fukushima Prefecture. The resort also offers stunning views of Mount Bandai, Lake Inawashiro, and frost-covered trees.

Kandatsu Snow Resort Rental Shop

Located just 69 minutes from Tokyo Station via the Joetsu Shinkansen and only about 3 minutes from the Yuzawa IC, Kandatsu is incredibly accessible. The resort offers a range of courses with 100% natural snow, catering to all levels of skier. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll find terrain parks, dynamic slopes, long mogul courses, and ungroomed powder runs to enjoy. After skiing, enjoy a meal at a trendy restaurant or relax in an open-air bath or Finnish sauna at the Kami no Yu bathing facilities.

Hunter Mountain Shiobara

Hunter Mountain Shiobara offers a long ride with a maximum run length of 3,000 meters and has one of the most varied selections of courses in the Kanto area. It’s especially popular among residents of the northern Kanto region. The snow park offers jumps and boxes, while the kids' park and other attractions such as the adventure area ensure that guests of all ages and skill levels can have fun.

Tanbara Ski Park

Despite being just a two-hour drive from the Tokyo metropolitan area, Tanbara Ski Park offers Hokkaido-quality powder snow during the peak season due to its inland location. About 80% of the courses are designed for beginners and intermediate skiers, making it a great choice for kids and novices. Snowboarders who enjoy gentle slopes for ground tricks will also find this park appealing. Their long season, running from late November to early May, is another major selling point.

ABLE Hakuba GORYU

Located at the entrance of Hakuba Village, ABLE Hakuba Goryu offers a safe and exciting experience for all guests. This season, the lighting for night skiing has been upgraded to 100% LED as part of their ongoing commitment to environmental conservation, and the resort is powered entirely by renewable energy.

Wing Hills Shiratori Resort

Wing Hills Shiratori Resort offers a variety of courses for beginners to advanced skiers, all accessible via an 8-minute ride on a high-speed gondola that takes you to the 1,350-meter summit. With a combination of powder and trick-friendly terrain, you can enjoy long cruising runs up to 3,500 meters. New this season is a terrain park that utilizes natural waves and walls for thrilling rides. There's also a hot spring on-site, making it a great place to relax before heading home.

Kinki・Western Honshu・Kyushu Area
Biwako Valley
Winter Season Operation (Scheduled): December 28, 2024 (Sat) - March 23, 2025 (Sun)
Biwako Valley features a panoramic slope with views of Lake Biwa, forested trails, mogul courses, tree runs, and natural moguls, offering diverse terrain for all levels. The park’s jumps feel like you're leaping into Lake Biwa itself. A popular chill spot is the "Biwako Terrace," which gives a sweeping view of the lake. Its excellent accessibility from the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe region makes it a popular choice for day trips.

Kuju Forest Park Skiing Ground
Winter Season Operation (Scheduled): December 13, 2024 (Fri) - Late March 2025
Kuju Forest Park is the largest ski resort in Kyushu, located at an altitude of 1,200 meters in Kokonoe Town, Oita Prefecture. It features five courses and a snow park, with a total run length of approximately 2,500 meters, all while enjoying a panoramic view that includes the Aso Five Peaks. Although located in Kyushu, the resort is set to open on December 13 this season. Kokonoe Town is also known for its many hot springs, and it's recommended to visit the nearby Sugiyu Onsen, just a five-minute drive from the slopes.
