On Tour with the Burton x Aoki Bag Collection

Renowned DJ, musician and producer Steve Aoki lives a nonstop world tour crisscrossing time zones 365 days a year, yet somehow he’s always made time to get up to the mountain.  A long time avid snowboarder and friend, Aoki has some deep roots with Burton that started more than 15 years ago, based on his love of riding, gear and the Burton lifestyle.

Our latest project with Steve was the most natural yet. Quite simply, he wanted to co-design a bag collection that could keep up with his literally year-round tour schedule, and have a cool and premium look and feel. We accomplished that and more with the new Burton x Aoki bag and luggage collection.

To celebrate the partnership, we recently met up with Steve and traveled for 48 hours with the new collection in tow, ending up in his home of Las Vegas, Nevada.

In Vegas, Steve welcomed us along with Burton’s creative guru Greg Dacyshyn, who co-designed the line with Steve on behalf of Burton. While there, we checked out Steve’s home (an amazing sight to behold), and after an incredible home cooked meal by Steve’s mom, who lives around the corner, Greg and Steve sat down to chat about life, travel and of course the bags in particular.

Then, after the hang out it was show time, so the guys headed onto the Las Vegas strip, where Steve played to a sold-out crowd at Hakkasan. It was an amazing night of creativity and community, and let’s just say everyone had a killer time.

The Burton x Aoki bags and luggage collection is all about clean style and of course rugged functionality (remember the 300 days on the road). And all feature Steve’s signature royal blue color pop, as a personal design callout back to Steve.
