Quick and Easy Snowboarding Trick How-Tos For Strong Spring Riding

We've said it before and we'll say it again: With the soft snow and mild weather, spring is a great time to push yourself further.

Imagine this: it's the end of the season, and you're feeling comfortable and confident in your riding. You and your friends are heading to the mountain next weekend. The plan is to hang out, soak up the sun, and, secretly, you want to show them how much you've progressed. We understand the feeling, and that's why we've organized a few trick tips to get you going. These four moves can be done without any special features—all you need is yourself and your snowboard. Just watch the videos a few times and practice, practice, practice. Once you've mastered them, you can view the rest of the Burton How-Tos on the Burton Snowboards YouTube channel. You'll look like a pro in no time.

Trick #1: Ollie

The ollie is often the first trick a snowboarder learns. More complicated maneuvers can be built off of it, so learning to ollie should be your first priority.

Trick #2: Tripod

Mastering the tripod is a great place to start because you can do it absolutely anywhere at any time. Plus, you'll get to see the mountain from a new perspective.

Trick #3: Butter

Buttering is as fun as it looks. Powder or slush—no matter what the conditions are, this is a fun one to add to your quiver. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be turning as smooth as butter.

Trick #4: Method

As Chloe Kim says, the method is one of the most iconic, timeless tricks possible. You'll see pros doing at the Burton US Open, but it's basic enough for any confident snowboarder to attempt.

So there you have it. Kimmy, Kelly, and Chloe make it look easy, but once you work at it, you'll be adding your own flair in no time. What are you waiting for? ∆
