General Info
Your favorite contest series has a new name and some important changes for this season. The revamped 2012 Burton Pro-Test is a regional amateur snowboarding competition series that will hit 6 resorts across the US this winter season. The events are open to all amateur competitors of all ages and will feature men’s and women’s Slopestyle and Halfpipe competitions. New this year are two very special slopestyle events run through The Stash at Northstar and Killington. First place winners (men and women) in each discipline will receive a wildcard entry into the US Open pre-quals at Stratton Mountain, VT in March of 2012. Wildcard entry only guarantees your spot on the pre-quals rider list. Winners must still pre-register for the US Open and pay the entry fee. The Burton Pro-Test gives amateur riders from all regions in the US a chance to guarantee a spot into the US Open pre-qualifiers by winning a contest at their home mountain.
Additionally, the Burton Pro-Test is the North American grassroots competition series of the Burton Global Open Series (“BGOS”) and all are 4Star TTR World Snowboard Tour events. All riders that compete in the Burton Pro-Test will earn valuable ranking points for both TTR and BGOS. Prizes
$7,000 USD per discipline per stop ($42,000 total), with equal prize $ for men and women:
US Open: The Burton Pro-Test is a qualifier to the US Open, with first place finishers in each gender and discipline receiving an automatic entry into the US Open at Stratton Mountain, VT in March of 2012 (pre-qualifiers for men and qualifiers for women) in their respective disciplines. Wildcard entry only guarantees your spot on the pre-quals rider list. Winners must still pre-register for the US Open and pay the entry fee. The Burton Pro-Test is the best way to secure your spot into the US!
Requirements
The following MUST be completed/supplied by EVERY competitor of the 2012 Burton Pro-Test:
Competitors must create a Rider Profile and pre-register for each of the events online through the Pro-Test registration system.
Bring a printed and signed waiver to the registration/check in desk the morning of the competition. COMPETITORS UNDER 18 YEARS OLD MUST HAVE THIS WAIVER SIGNED BY THEIR PARENTS/GUARDIAN IN ORDER TO COMPETE.
Bring a helmet to wear during practice and competition. ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEAR A HELMET TO COMPETE IN THE 2012 BURTON PRO-TEST.
Competitor is responsible for purchasing a lift ticket on event days.

Registration is $10.00 per event and open to competitors of any age. All riders MUST PRINT OUT THE WAIVER ON THIS SITE, FILL IT OUT AND BRING IT TO THE EVENT IN ORDER TO COMPETE!! If you are under 18, you MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN SIGN THE WAIVER. If you are under 13, YOU MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN REGISTER ONLINE FOR YOU.

Registration is on a first come first served basis. You will get an email confirmation informing you of your successful registration. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT EVENT ORGANIZERS REGARDING YOUR STATUS. Confirmed riders must ALSO register onsite at the individual event locations to pick up their bibs and other registration materials. Registration begins at 7:30AM and closes at 9:00AM on the day of the competition*. If you fail to register onsite during the above times, your spot will be forfeited to a waitlisted rider.
*Additional on-site registration offered the day prior to each event.
Once all of the spots have been filled, you may sign up for the waitlist. All waitlisted riders MUST show up IN PERSON at registration between 7:30AM and 8:30AM in order to reconfirm their waitlist status. In the event that spots become available, at approximately 9:00AM on the morning of the competition, riders’ names will be RANDOMLY selected from the waitlist and placed on the confirmed rider start list.
Registration for all Pro-Test events is now open and will close at 10:00PM EST on the Thursday BEFORE the each individual competition weekend.

ALL FORMATS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON WEATHER, COMPETITOR FIELD SIZE, AND OTHER POSSIBLE DELAYS. ALL FORMAT CHANGES WILL BE COMMUNICATED DURING THE RIDER MEETINGS.
Field Size:
Maximum 60 men
Maximum 30 women
Qualifiers:
Riders divided into heats (men x 2 heats, women x 1). Each rider gets 2 runs. Best of the 2 runs counts, with ties broken by next highest run.
Top 5 men from each heat move to the finals. Additionally, the next 2 highest scores overall between both heats move to finals (12 total).
Top 6 women from their heat move to finals. 3 judges will score each rider on a scale of 1-100. 3 judges scores will be averaged for total run score.
Heat #1 – 30 men (top 5 advance)
Heat #2 – 30 men (top 5 advance)
(plus the next two highest scores overall between both heats will also advance, for a total of 12 men in the finals)
Heat #3 – 30 women (top 6 advance)
Finals:
Finals will consist of an hour long jam session for HP and a two run final for SS. 3 judges will rank each rider for a final ranking.
