A board that can't be contained by terrain or conditions, the Burton Barracuda harnesses S-Rockerâ„¢ and a slight taper to bring Fish-like float to an all-mountain mentality.
The Nitty Gritty

Not as pow-specific as the Fish or as freestyle-focused as the Sherlock, this ATV pushes the boundaries of freeride into an entirely different realm of straight shots and pillow lines. With all-wheel drive edge tech and fully directional power—this top predator is the one to reach for in variable or unknown terrain.

Comments about Burton Barracuda Snowboard:

Love at first ride. Wasn't expecting much when I demo'd this board, but I had so much fun riding it that I plopped down the dough. Interestingly enough I'm riding a 157cm even though the recommended size is 169cm according to Burton's size chart based on my height and weight (6'0" and 218 lbs). This board is so agile and fast even in the sloppiest conditions. Over the course of 3 days I had a chance to go over varying conditions from semi-slush, choppy slop, hard pack, and soft almost pow. It can handle hard pack well enough, but soft snow is where it shines. I assumed a surfer mentality and shredded all terrain (even stuff I was afraid to touch before) with ease and agility so long as the snow was malleable. It got a little spooky at high speeds and in the chop, but I still came out in one piece. The edge transfer is smooth and buttery. This board will treat you well in good conditions, and although it's not the best in icy or hardpack snow, it will treat you well enough there too. Ride the Barracuda and you'll swim like a fish.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Burton Barracuda Snowboard:

I rode the first version at Jay 2 or 3 years ago on loan from a friend before it was released. I was lucky enough to take on about 2 ft. of fresh and was so happy to have this board for that day. Worked unreal. Very much like whipping around a small wave shortboard in clean fun surf. Perfect for tight NE trees or slashing pillows. The next day was bluebird and most of the trails were groomed and I found myself breaking the tail out a little to easy on the hardpack while on my way to another tree stash of leftover powder. I guess thats what S rocker is expected to do so no disappointment, just wish it held for a few more seconds on long, high speed toeside carves among the groomers. Overall this board is worth it for sure, so long as it's not the only board you've got living in New England.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
